PhoneMic turns your iPhone or Android phone into a wireless microphone for your PC. It is built so that your data stays yours:
PhoneMic has no user accounts, ads or advertising tracking. Your microphone audio stays on your local network. The iOS app sends anonymous usage analytics and a limited purchase notification to our own servers, as described below.
Audio captured by the microphone is streamed directly from your phone to your own computer over your local Wi-Fi network. It never touches the internet or any third-party server, and it is not recorded or stored by PhoneMic on either device.
The app uses local network access (Bonjour / mDNS) solely to discover PhoneMic receivers — your own computers — on the same network. No information from this discovery leaves your network.
The subscription is sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your name, payment card details or store account. Their privacy policies apply to the purchase itself.
On iOS, when a subscription or free trial starts, PhoneMic sends the selected plan, displayed price, store country and whether the purchase is a test purchase to our Call Me notification service at serdaroztetik.com. We use these notifications to understand subscription activity. They do not include microphone audio, your Apple Account, or a transaction identifier. A randomly generated notification session is stored on the device and reused for these requests. Our server also receives the IP address required to deliver the request. We do not use this data for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
Starting with version 1.3.2, the iOS app sends a small number of anonymous usage events to our own server, so we can see whether the app works and where people get stuck. An event records which screen was shown (the main screen or the subscription screen) and the steps of the subscription flow (the subscription screen was opened, Subscribe was tapped, and whether the purchase succeeded, was cancelled, is pending or failed, or whether Restore found a subscription). Each batch also carries the app version, the platform, whether it is an App Store, TestFlight or development build, and the country derived from the connection.
Events are grouped by a random session id that is created each time the app launches and is never saved, so one launch cannot be linked to the next. We do not collect any account, device identifier, advertising identifier, name, email, Apple Account, microphone audio, or anything about which computers you connect to. Your IP address is looked at only while an event arrives, to tell our own test devices and automated traffic apart from real use, and is never stored. The data is not linked to your identity, is not used for tracking, and is not shared with or sold to anyone.
Events are sent over HTTPS to yourtechresume.com, a server run by the same developer as this app, not a third party. They are deleted after 45 days.
PhoneMic stores subscription status and paywall settings on your device. The iOS app checks our website for the current subscription options. These requests do not include microphone audio.
